Quick Response with Auby Taylor

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST INTRODUCTION TO THUNDER TRUCKS?

I bought my first pair from index skateshop years ago as part of a Christmas complete.

WHAT SIZE TRUCK DO YOU RIDE?

I like my board to be a little higher up so I skate thunder 147 highs.

ARE YOU WORKING ON ANY PROJECTS CURRENTLY?

I'm working on something fun with my friend Angel Saucedo he films VX and HI8 angles. He has his own unique style of filming and editing, its really sick. Each trick has a few cuts of HI8 before or after it and it gives a little bit of a story behind each trick we film and all the spots are around the 805 area. Other then that I've just been making the drive to LA or Long Beach every day going filming with my friends Tim and Shane. I'm working on something for Matix and an Hombre Hardware commercial as well. The projects never end.

HOW DO YOU RIDE YOUR TRUCKS? TIGHT, LOOSE, IN THE MIDDLE?

I keep it between both worlds in the middle.

HOW LONG DO YOU SKATE A SET OF TRUCKS FOR?

That's a good question, I definitely hate breaking in new trucks so I try to use them until they hit the axle. However long that takes, 5 - 6 months maybe?

DO YOU USUALLY HAVE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN YOUR TRUCKS AFTER YOU SKATE THEM FOR A WHILE?

I have madness when it comes to that, I'm always asking everyone if they have a tool and then barely adjusting it over and over doing nothing much. It's a mental thing for sure.

WHATS IT LIKE BEING ON THE KROOKED TRIPS, ANYONE IN PARTICULAR THAT YOU ROOM WITH? ANY GOOD DREHOBL STORIES?

On my first trip we went to Nashville and that was awesome because I had never been there before, it was also the first trip I went on with a team where we skated street the whole time, all day and then the night with generators with some cool locals to show us around. That's how I think trips should be. I ended up rooming with Dan because that dude is rad and he has done it all. He can top any weird story you have and it's pretty hard to shake him up. Honestly, his own stories are probably the best Drehobl stories.

ANYBODY ON THE THUNDER TEAM YOU'RE PARTICULARLY HYPED ON OR DRAW INSPIRATION FROM?

My friend Jake Ruiz is really sick. Watch out for that kid.

YOU'RE FROM DALLAS, TEXAS, IN YOUR OPINION, WHO IS THE BEST SKATER FROM TEXAS?

Cody Mac and Guru Khalsa. I looked up to both of those guys when I was a kid, Cody can do every trick in the book, and Guru has an incredible style.

WHO DO YOU NORMALLY SKATE WITH?

I've been skating a lot in LA with Tim Fulton and David Jaimes, Massimo Cavedoni and Jake Ruiz. If I'm not there Im in Long Beach skating with Shane Darnell, Jordan McCollough and JP Souza.
