Chris, how long have you been skating?
it has been 19 years now.
Whats the most important component to your skateboard?
honestly its the trucks. everyone knows that. all the parts matter, but if your trucks suck then you are over the whole rig.
You're riding the 149ers What was the decision process for such a change in gear? And how was the transition into it?
no decision at all. I have a 8.5 board, so I couldnt wait to get a wider truck on there. the change was great. I felt like I had just been awakened into knowing what stability you can have. what was I doing all those years with smaller trucks?
How often do you skate?
every other day pretty much.
You were just in SF and came by the factory. What are your thoughts on that?
it was so interesting!!! I wish I had more time to hang out. I was a wide eyed child in there. I wanted to know everything. that big ass oven is scary as shit though. I dont even wanna see it again. worst way to go, ever.
What gets you hyped?
seeing someone rip. new tricks. good music. a good posse gets the session going.
if I see someone with killer style and they are getting it, I wanna get in line too.
I know that you're really into BMX to. How long have you been into that?
not very long, a year maybe. it is fun and different, but gives you a similar feeling as skating. I think bmx gets a bad rep too, we all have a common goal. we all want to go and do something physical, challenging, rewarding, and exiting. bmx dudes( generally) are skate fans too. i've met some super cool dudes that ride bmx, and they are all into skating as well. if you arent into bmx, watch the movie "RAD".
You're just steady filming, from the Fallen video right into a Zero video. How do you make it through that and not get burned out?
i'm filming for zero? just kidding. you just gotta find exciting stuff to do. thats all. dont stress it. if my part isn't hammertime then I hope people understand that this isn't a main project for me. this video will have some great stuff but is more focused on the other dudes from zero. which works perfect for me.
Who is your favorite skater right now?
tom asta- the skate rat aspect of this dude is great. pete eldridge- style alone. I could watch this dude ollie a pyramid and get that old feeling like when you first saw tom penny. I know that might be extreme for most people but petes laid back blast pop is a unique gift. I wish I had it.
Favorite video parts of all time?
danny way colin mckay in "revolution"
chief "welcome to hell"
pepe martinez any part he did
the whole "jump off a building" video
guy mariano "fully flared"
