TOM K. Out Of Sync

What was your first introduction to Thunder Trucks?

In the Toy Machine Good and Evil bonus section Ed Templeton talks about riding for Thunder Trucks and how they are the only trucks he can skate and if he didn’t ride for Thunder he would buy them. I listened to Tempster.

Do you remember how you first got on the Thunder Team?

Darin Howard emailed me and said I’m down to get you on a program as long as you keep doing it. That was a pretty intense email!

After putting out a heavy part in Cold War some people might take a little break, how did the idea come about to put together this new one?

I just felt that I had a lot of ideas left in my head that didn’t fit the feel of “Zero Cold War”. It’s also really fun going out and filming with my friend Matt (Bublitz) and the fact that he had complete control of the edit got me stoked to make another part with him. We skate together almost everyday so it came together really naturally.

Anything particularly scary or challenging while filming for this?

Classic case of “Christmas” spots so we had to barge it a couple times but that’s usually fun even if it doesn’t work out.

Are you working on anything right now? Any upcoming projects?

Nothing in particular, just skating with my friends!

You skate a lot of interesting and unique spots, what motivates you to seek out these types of terrain?

I feel like a big part of being a skateboarder is finding spots that speak to you and I think that speaks to other skateboarders and gets them stoked. It feels more genuine than the staff filmer taking you to the new 14 stair rail on the new skate spot app.

Who are some of the Thunder Riders that inspire you or you’re particularly hyped on right now?

I was always inspired by Ed Templeton. He skated a lot of the schools and spots I grew up by.

How Long do you usually Ride your trucks for?

6 or 7 months.

What is your go to warm up trick on a ledge spot?

50/50

How do you ride them? Loose, Tight or in the middle?

I’d say more on the loose side.

Who is in your skate crew that you usually roll with?

Matt Bublitz, Andy Smith, Mr New Mex, Robert Cavallo, and John Demar. They are a bunch of rippers!

Who would be there for your dream skate session?

All my friends that I grew up skating with. The ones that had to go to school, the ones that piled out, the ones that work full time, and the ones that had babies. Everyone in one place at the same time would be so epic!

Shout outs or anyone you want to Thank?

Thanks to everyone that took the time to read this and watch the video!
